The top image shows a typical trio of jugs/pitchers of the shape known as ‘Paris’ at Gray’s Pottery. Such sets of three, of varying size, were popular in the 1930s and 40s and were given as prizes in the annual Love Darg competitions held by the weekly Scottish publication “People’s Friend” in the early 1930s. See pattern 9596 for more detail.
The boat-shaped dish (190mm/7½” x 100mm/4”), on two long feet, was a popular shape used by Gray’s Pottery for a number of designs.
