A pattern expected to have been exhibited at the 1924 British Empire Exhibition.
The five examples shown in the composite image are all 125mm/5” diameter round dishes and were, perhaps, souvenirs sold at the 1924 British Empire Exhibition. They all have the same enamelled print in the centre but have different borders/bands.
Although Gray’s Pottery participated in the Exhibition, no information has come to light regarding precisely what and where: items carrying the special version of the Gloria Lustre backstamp (see the Backstamps section – E1BEE) are an obvious clue and help with identifying items.
The marks on the five dishes are (L to R, top to bottom: backstamp, pattern number): H3b, 4380; E1BEE, 4383; E1BEE, 4385; E1BEE, 4386; unknown, unknown.
