Notes
This pattern is one of several decorative lustre designs of the period where the entire decoration is covered in a translucent mother-of-pearl glaze giving an overall iridescent effect.
The central motif within the bowl shown, probably a dragon, is indistinct due to wear. The base has a painted footring (a feature of many lustre designs of the period), the initials AH – probably those of accomplished paintress Alice Hancock, and a four-sided rebus.
