This pattern is one of several decorative lustre designs of the period where the entire decoration is covered in a translucent mother-of-pearl glaze giving an overall iridescent effect.
The bowl shown has one of the personal marks of Susie Cooper on its base, as well as some interesting decoration in an area not usually on view!
