This banded design, in common with the 1928 banded pattern 8312 Harmony, was produced through into the 1950s. Examples of pots with the 27.5mm wide Clipper backstamp N6, in use from 1948-61, are to be seen regularly.
The four jugs in the third image are a good example of the graduated Paris jugs used by Gray’s Pottery for many years and for many types of decoration. In the case shown the sizes are approximately (left to right) 142mm/5½”, 130mm/5″, 120mm/4¾”, 105mm/4″. See the website section Ware Suppliers, Lancaster & Sons for more information.
Lidded storage jars/canisters of this pattern have been recorded with large, black, hand-painted contents labels.
