The second image shown here, taken from a company information photograph, was used for an advertisement which appeared regularly in Pottery Gazette and Glass Trade Review from April 1950 to December 1951 (see the Adverts section).
The hand-written label on the back of the photograph reads in full:
PATT. A8674. Magnolia printed in Grey, Painted in Pale Yellow, White, & Green. Background is in Silver Lustre, and the Border is handpainted in Silver. Line & edge also Silver Lustre.
PATT.NO. A8656. Handpainted design in Silver Lustre.

All the pots in the image are pattern A8656 with the exception of the large plate.
The last image is of Gray’s employee Phyllis Day (née Bennett), probably taken in the late 1940s or early 1950s. It shows Phyllis applying a classical lustre pattern design of vine leaves and berries to a saucer. As it is a black & white photograph it is impossible to tell if it is lustre pigment being applied to a white saucer – typified by pattern A8656 – or if it is resist material being applied to a white saucer which will then be covered entirely with lustre pigment – typified by patterns A8669 and A9361.
