Pattern No: A9361
| Pattern Name | Design Type | Designer | Likely Design Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not known | Lustre - copper | Not known | 1952 |
Notes
As is often the case with Gray’s lustre patterns, this copper/bronze version has a silver equivalent: both A9276 and A9336.
A9361 has only been recorded on two shapes, examples as shown: large display plates and Antique-shaped jugs.
The last image is of Gray’s employee Phyllis Day (née Bennett), probably taken in the late 1940s or early 1950s. It shows Phyllis applying a classical lustre pattern design of vine leaves and berries to a saucer. As it is a black & white photograph it is impossible to tell if it is lustre pigment being applied to a white saucer – typified by pattern A8656 – or if it is resist material being applied to a white saucer which will then be covered entirely with lustre pigment – typified by patterns A8669 and A9361.
