Notes
This pattern is probably the second Gray’s design (after, perhaps, A286) to have been created on pots which were made of stoneware and which may have been supplied by Pearson of Chesterfield.
The parallel-sided, flat-topped canister/storage jar (actually lacking its lid) shown in the second image has been recorded in three sizes, sometimes with an imperial pound size marking impressed towards the base: ½LB, 1LB, 2LB. The approximate respective sizes are: 75mm/3” diameter x 100mm/4” high; 95mm/3¾” x 120mm/4¾”; 110mm/4½” x 150mm/6”.
