the upper one’s central motif is The Old Mill, a print used, both in plain and in enamelled form, on various designs, as can be seen from the list below;
the lower one’s central motif is a version of Hunting (pattern A8834) .
The suffix to a pattern number is usually an indication of a particular colourway of the same basic design, being a common practice at Gray’s Pottery. A similar plate, with a light blue border around The Old Mill print, has been recorded marked with pattern number A9092/6. It is expected that other colour band colours existed, having other suffixes.
