Notes
Four lamp bases of the shape shown have been recorded for A9121 and no other shapes.
Gray’s Pottery often supplied its lamp bases with matching shades, as the example shows.
The shade, of an early plastic material, has sections joined by a technique known as thonging (see patterns A250 and A2130 for further examples). The second image, from a 1950 Hobbies Weekly magazine, relates to an ICI plastic material which was used for lamp shades.
