… five (Gray’s) exhibits at the Royal Academy Exhibition of British Art in Industry. One of these is a novel design of silver and gold vertical bands seen in the (London) showrooms, the ware being designed by S.C.Talbot and A.E.Gray.
The black & white illustration is from the illustrated souvenir of the 1935 British Art in Industry exhibition. The identical image appeared in Pottery and Glass, November 1944..
Manchester City Museum & Art Gallery has a coffee pot and two cups and saucers of this pattern in its collection: its 1935 accession record (1935.117/3) indicates a price of 5/3d (26p) for the pot and 2/6d (12½p) for each cup and saucer.
