Pattern No: A8954

Pattern Name Design Type Designer Likely Design Date
Not known Lustre - splashed Not known 1950

Most of the pots recorded have been in the USA where Gray’s splashed lustre designs seemed to have been especially popular in the late 1940s and through into the early 1950s. These recorded pots are all items of useful ware: tea ware, plates and jugs.

A8954 uses the same enamelled prints as pattern A8834, unofficially named Hunting.

The small jug in the seventh image was known as a ‘Castle’ jug at Gray’s Pottery: see the website section Retailers, North America – USA, Skinners for more information on these jugs.
